Going where no VBS has gone before!

Thank you all for an extremely successful Vacation Bible school week where we took the kids on a galactic adventure! The kids had an amazing time and learned about letting God's light, God's strength, God's gifts, God's forgiveness, and God's mission shine through us. The key scripture was: That you may become blameless and pure, children of God that shine like stars in the universe.
Janice Bryan was this year's VBS director and she did a wonderful job!! We all need to give her a big, big hug next time we see her. I think she thought of everything and did an great job of making sure we had volunteers for everything. Thank you Janice!
Janice and I want to thank each and every one of the volunteers for giving so much of themselves to this ministry. We were both overwhelmed by not only the response to this call, but also the excitement with which it was met. I think the adults and youth who helped with this had just as much fun as the kids. Thank you all so much.
A thank you goes out to the Growth and Development Committee for helping us with our covered dish VBS celebration after church on Sunday by providing the hams. They were especially yummy and I think everyone had a great time.
We also want to thank the Outreach Committee for being willing to match our fundraising efforts to build a school for children in Africa with AIDS. Together we raised $401. How awesome!
I think we'll each take a week or so to reflect on this year's experience and then start planning for next year. ;)
Blessings!
